t the Volcano Engine FORCE Power Conference held on June 23, 2026, Tan Dai, President of Volcano Engine, officially unveiled Seedance 2.5, Doubao’s video generation model. The model is currently in global enterprise beta testing and is slated for official launch in early July.
On-site presentations highlighted multiple core capability upgrades built into Seedance 2.5. It supports native direct generation of single videos up to 30 seconds long and allows simultaneous import of 50 full-modal reference materials, delivering more controllable and highly refined video generation and editing workflows. Additionally, the conference announced upgrades to its predecessor Seedance 2.0, which now features native 4K video generation functionality.
The event also offered a preview of ByteDance’s brand-new AI copyright commercialization platform, with Stephen Chow named one of its first official partners. Leveraging this copyright platform alongside Seedance’s video generation capabilities, users across Douyin, Jimeng, Jianying, and all tools integrated with Seedance gain access to officially licensed templates for secondary creative works based on classic scenes from Stephen Chow’s films.
Tan Dai revealed that the cumulative usage volume of the relevant template series and derivative creations has exceeded 100,000 times as of the conference date.
